



Phillip (Phil) Johnson was born in Cebu, Philippines on June 15, 1956. He and his
family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1963. Phil quickly excelled and became a
stand out athlete in basketball, track and field, football, and in martial arts, i.e., Tang
Soo Do Karate, and Shorin Kung Fu. Phil has been in Martial Arts competitions and
have trained many Law Enforcement officers in hand to hand combat. Phil was inducted
into the "Master's Martial Arts Hall of Fame" in 2006. Inducted as Renshi Phil Johnson.
Randy Couture (MMA legend) was inducted in the same hall of fame in 2007.
Other notable legends inducted in the same hall of fame are: Bill" Superfoot Wallace,
Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Big John McCarthy, Bob (Enter the Dragon) Wall, Benny "The
Jet" Urquidez, Grandmaster Eric Lee, and other famous celebrities. Phil is also featured
on WAAY T.V. News as Dr. Greg Millar's (millarchiro.com) Personal Trainer on the abc

waay to get fit. Phil has also been appointed AAU Director of Powerlifting and AAU
State Chairman of the States of Alabama and Tennesee.
Weighing in at a mere 120 pounds upon graduating from high school, Phil started a very
extensive weight training regiment that enabled him to gain 70 pounds in less than a
year. His strength more than doubled and he shortly became a lifting Champion. Phil
reached a weight of 265 pounds with very little bodyfat. His current weight is around 245
to 255. Phil is a 3 time World Champion in the Bench Press. Phil has numerous titles in
weightlifting. His best lifts are 500 pounds bench, 750 squats, 750 deadlift, 300 pound
curls, and a 405 pound skull-crusher press for reps. (drug free).
In the 1980's Phil became interested in sharing his knowledge in personal fitness and
began training clients in Venice, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Riverside
California, where his clients achieved great results. He also trained clients in Martial Arts.
Phil has been 100% all natural and drug-free throughout his life and is against taking
steroids, growth hormones, or any performance enhancing or illegal drugs.
In 1990 Phil joined the Riverside County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff, where
he set records in the annual Police Olympics in the Bench press competition. Phil
retired from the Sheriff's Department in 2007 and is now training clients in Huntsville
Alabama.
